Former financier Charles F. Stewart has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Sotheby’s since 2019, redefining the 280-year-old auction house as a trusted art and luxury marketplace. With a bold vision, Stewart has blended the auction house’s storied heritage with cutting-edge digital innovation, driving record-breaking sales and global client engagement.
Before joining Sotheby’s, Stewart served as Co-President and CFO of Altice USA, where he spearheaded its $2.1 billion IPO on the NYSE. His two-decade career in investment banking included leadership roles at Itaú BBA International and Morgan Stanley, with experience across the U.S., Latin America, and Europe.
He graduated from Yale University and serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations.
